Updates for Thin Green Line Festival 2010
October 31st for the 2nd annual Thin Green Line festival to be held at Coolart Wetlands. The greenest festival with great bands, community vibe, supporting rangers, their families and communities for conservation worldwide.
Thin Green Line Festival Postponement
The Thin Green Line Foundation regrets to announce that due to 2 circumstances beyond our control The Thin Green Line Festival has been postponed.
Circumstance #1: The government's new bushfire policy of the likely cancellation of events on public land on Total Fire Ban days.
Circumstance #2: The role of Managing Director of The Thin Green Line Foundation means Sean Willmore visits some of the planet's poorest and remotest places to distribute the crucial assistance that you are helping to fund. As a part an parcel of that role Sean often puts himself at risk of disease, injury and abduction. Unfortunately after returning from his latest trip Sean has contracted Dengue Fever which has temporarily impacted on Sean's ability to be the driving force behind The Thin Green Line Festival.
The Thin Green Line Foundation is committed to The Thin Green Line Festival and plans for the next Festival are already under way, we will keep you posted.
The next event we will have will be The Thin Green Line dinner in July for around 300 people with some great musicians.
Sorry for this news, but we want to present you with the best festival possible and so we are looking for early November 2010 or April 2011 for the next Thin Green Line Festival.
We hope you can continue to support the Thin Green Line Foundation at our other events and fund raising activities.
Great 2010 Line Up to be announced soon for Feb 27th
This is a fundraising event with all proceeds going to the Thin Green Line foundation - which supports the families of rangers who are killed protecting wildlife around the planet, and community conservation projects which minimise conflicts.
The festival this year will scale down to a smaller venue, for only 500 supporters, but that means triple the intimacy.
Due to the new Government Bushfire policy for public land, the event had the potential of being cancelled on a Total Fire Ban Day , if it was continued at Coolart during fire season.
So as a way of continuing the event, and giving you all a chance to experience the great vibe from last years gig, the mini grassroots TGLF Festival, will forge ahead In Balanarring, with great acts, films, art, food and community spirit.
TIckets and more information will be available towards the end of January. Keep checking the TGLF website, facebook, or if you are on our members list we will e-mail you some notifications shortly.
Happy New year to you all, and Look forward to seeing you at this years Festival on February 27th
