The Thin Blue Line
Well I was getting on a ship to Tasmania to open my film at the Falls Festival and now I am on another a ship - the Steve Irwin - part of Sea Shepherd.
At the last minute I was invited to go down with Sea Shepherd to the Southern Ocean and Antarctica to join the effort to stop the whalers down there... how could I say no?
So whilst my film is called "The Thin Green Line", there is also a "Thin Blue Line" out in the oceans.
My film is dedicated to the men and women who sacrifice much...sometimes their lives to preserve and conserve our great planet and all its life-forms.
This film is about rangers on the front-line of conservation but it’s really about anyone who cares and puts it “on the line” for what they believe in. It’s about the human spirit that drives people to do great things and use their life energy for something worthwhile.
That includes people who support people on the Thin Green Line! If you buy my film “The Thin Green Line" then you have supported this cause as 100% of the profits form the film go to supporting the families of rangers killed on the frontline by poachers , rebel soldiers etc etc...yeah it happens! 155 rangers have been killed in the last ten years in the Congo alone!
I hope you watch this, get inspired, and if your not already involved in something to bring communities together for our planet, then hopefully you'll want to be after this.
It does take all of us to put our piece of the puzzle in place, then we can get a picture of true sustainability...and that really needs all of us.
If we can stuff up the planet together then we can make a positive contribution together, and in fact save species, communities and cultures from disappearing.
From the Thin Green to Blue Line, together we can make a difference.
